hey guys.. update alert!

so first things first.. SORRRYY, that i havent been posting. (this week has been physically and mentally draining nonetheless its has been and interesting one. so.with that said... i have a few new things that has happened in the span of one week. i will make individual posts for them later but for now im gonna list 'em just for interests sake. =D

• Sunday: I RETTTWIISSTTEEDD.. after three weeks I did my first retwist. (will be posting pics and products used). WILL BE POSTING PICS!
• Sunday Thing #2: As you guys may (or may not know), I briefly talked about my battle with depression. So I had said to myself that a way that I can overcome is facing it head on. With that said, I confronted someone that had a big part of the escalation and creation of my depressive state. I will def. create a post about this.. with an introduction on my history.
• My graphic design projects were a SUCCESSS among my professors. I will be posting my most recent ones as of yet.

EXTRA:  So as you guys may not know, i'm in the process of getting braces (within 2 weeks). and tomorrow i'm getting my  4 teeth removed so I can get them installed within the next week or so. I will be posting progress on this as well , so stay tuned. =)

Yeeehawww!.. my first product review/ makeup review period.

Okay... so in case you didn't know (which i'm sure you didn't unless you read minds...), I like to wear eyeliner. I don't wear makeup.. but eyeliner is the only makeup that i really love.

i know, i know.. this is the blog where i suppose to venture out , but give me a break... i've been to broke to buy ice cream..and since i was able to get a little moola .. i had to get myself some eyeliner. So on to the review, I've heard great things about this eyeliner from indianmakeupdiva.com, so i had to try it...

So I loved it. I have tried around 3 eyeliners in my life... and this was AWESOMEE. I was able to either make the liner look dramatic or light for daytime (i wear dramatic in the daytime too.. soo..lol) depending on how you positioned the slanted eyeliner brush that comes with it. It went on smoothly and didn't tug.. like it says. I have big eyes .. so trust me if it works for me without tugging and smearing.. it will work for you.

one week baby locs update + sucky morning

first and foremost, i hope you guys had a awessommee halloween for those who celebrate it. Unfortunately, I had a full day of classes from dusk till dawn so there was no pretending like i was a mutant 2 -year old that only wanted to have a trashbag full of candy. arrrggghh any way... on to the cool stuff. so i had a bad day/good day if you will. Mais ou menos.. (so so). So lets start with the bad shall we?

So this morning I had a reg' ole moanin... woke up, wiped up, and got dress... with my fave earrings to top off. So, I mosey on out the house towards the bus stop.. bus came, went , and stopped in front of my lovely college(hmm).. i get off, then i continued the moseying towards the school building.. when all of a sudden i dont feel the familar two side swing of my earrings that i love.. ermmm... somethings wrong here.. so i feel the left side .. cool.. the right side.. FML... it was gone. i felt like i stopped breathing, *deep breath* okay.. so yea , you've pretty much guessed it.. i lost one of my favorite RARE teardrop earrings. okay... so i died for like 2 mins.

So I get to class, began the new project (btw its and ad project for the TATA Nano ..legaallll (cool!). , and then 50mins. later i decide to go into my bookbag to get out some work material for my other class.

Sniff Sniff... I smell fruit punch.. mmmmm.... WAIT! WHAT?NOOO!!!....

I opened my bag and not only do I see red on most of my IMPORTANT work.. but i see red in my eyes.. ehh. but at the end of the day i was able to make a logo project for a colleague.. he was VERY PLEASED. and I completed my jazz band poster.. unh hunnhh!!.. woop woop!

So now that I was able to end on a good note... lets begin the good news. So its been one week since i installed my baby locs (two strand twists) and now here is the REVEAL! lol...

So there we go!

What chu' lookin' at small fry?

so guys just a "small" update on my loc progress... i made them smaller. yep, i did. why? you may ask...

its because once they become mature they will be twice the size of my 2-strands twists. which will be perfect because i definitely didnt want sister locks , but i did want dreads that would (i hope.. since a loc journey is unexpected) be the size of chic-o stics or even a bit thicker:

so thats about all folks.. i will be posting more pics of different angles of my new 2 strand twists starter locs a bit later.

it was quite dreadful i might add..

SOOOOOOO!.. it has begun!.. an hour ago i had just finished the last twist of my loose hair for the beginning of my loc'ed journey. The decision for me to "loc" myself up was a spontaneous one (2 days ago), so was the decision for me to bc and go natural (may 2011).. and so was the decision for me to embark on a healthy hair journey (august 2009).

what have we learned??? i do not plan most of the occurrences that happen in my life. i like it that way because im always pleasantly surprised. here's how this loc thing came about..

after going through a mental war (at least that's the best way to describe my depression "flare ups"), i decided to surf online.i then stumbled upon this pic while i was looking on locluv.tumblr.com:

i was going through a big hair downfall at this time of my "flare up".. and kind of given up. when all of a sudden after seeing this pic i had an epiphany (not really, because most people, including my bf said that i should have dreads.. nonetheless..) that's when i then decided that i wanted a commitment to dreads and give in into something that i've been fighting for a long time. there were so many reasons why they fit me:

 i wore my hair in twists 100% of the time.

i couldn't wear out styles (not for more than 2 days or my head would be so dry that it would dis-senegrate if i even breath in carbon dioxide)

i would never be able to show my length (heat hates my hair.. i follow all of the rules.. and all it took for me was one time to straighten my hair.. and while it reverted fully into a full blown shrunken afro (four hours after the four hour flat iron.. damn you water vapor).. about 1 inch up my ends were ruined in the back.. and about 1/4th in the front which resulted to me doing a trim/dust.

so i said "idiot,dreads was the best life choice for m you all along" . i can show my length w/o heat and my hair would be in a twist like formation anyway. GENIUS!

so the journey began, and with a head of fresh 2-strand twists i am truly excited and ready for this dread journey. i will be updating in about 4 weeks when i wash my head for the first time. i will also be posting all happenings with the locs and progression and any new things and inspirations i stumble upon.

would you like cream cheese wit' dat?

Oi, everyone and welcome! i created this blog for a few reasons:

• to document and track my newly locking journey and to share healthy hair tips with others (been into the healthy hair thing for around 3 years) and other hair goodies
•  to possibly overcome my depression disorder and share knowledge and lessons learned to and with others and to raise my self-esteem.

 and for the other shenanigans:

•  be able to show my progress as i venture into finally coming to my own fashion style (and of course post pictures)
•  share nutritional info and yummy recipes that i try/stumble upon and that i know 
• i do graphic design so i hope to share tips and some of my art as well.
• post other random, but interesting things i happened to find whether its interesting pictures, news, history, me venturing into makeup, etc.

I also hope to have newly locsters feature( interviews with baby locers such as myself), loc and natural hair idol interviews (loc/natural goddesses), product reviews, and more. This blog i believe is going to be refreshing in a sense that its more personal in my opinion where i allow you into everything that goes on in my mind. There will be good , bad, and ugly.. and things wont always be "picture perfect". So don't be afraid to express yourself or vent as well .as long as it isnt negativity towards me or others.. thats not tolerated here, and i have enough negativity in my life and im sure you do too ;).

With that said, i hope you enjoy this blog as much as i do posting stuff.
